Soon.
A project so ill-conceived, so moronic, you'll be asking yourself, "why hasn't the state of Texas locked this nutjob away in an institution yet?"
This project is so hare-brained and so convoluted even my most loyal customers will think twice before asking me to change their oil or replace a taillight bulb...
If it works, this project will redefine the word hoonage. Open air motoring will forever be changed.
Well, ok, maybe not those last two things. But it will be so awesome yet so retarded, it will beg the question, "Why???" Quickly followed by "Can I go for a ride?"
It's coming.
Watch this space!

I need to keep my mouth shut until the vehicle to be modified arrives... I have the powerplant, and I'm working on acquiring the drivetrain. As soon as the base vehicle is in my physical possession I will make an announcement here with my plans. Rest assured this hasn't been done before and its a little nutty!

Time for an update - the base vehicle has finally arrived!
Actually, it arrived last week and I've just been really busy. But here it is:

'01 TT 225 roadster with the #2 rod poking out of the block

I got it into the shop and on rollerskates and robbed it of the fat fives with new Falkens for my own TT

Began harvesting the salvageable parts for sale (and my spares stash) like the freshly rebuilt head and new OEM K04-20

I had a little free time today so I decided to yank the top to gain access to the sheetmetal beneath

Right about now you may be asking, "Wait... why do you need to access the sheetmetal beneath the convertible top?"
The answer: To make room to stuff this back there, silly!

40v AUX code 4.2 from a late D2 A8L
Told you this was going to get retarded!

SWEET! I shall be watching keeping an eye on this! After you get that 40v in, you should try and pull off a big single.

There will certainly be enough room for a turbo or two back there ;-)
Right now I need to find a FWD 016 as a FWD 01E is just way too expensive and hard to find and an 01X is not strong/reliable enough.

I have a couple of FWD 01e's DQS code transmissions I imported. I don't want to give them away, but on the same hand, I wouldn't mind helping out a cool project like this. PM me

So this happened on the way into the shop today

She didn't go down without a fight. This POS will never sound its 'la cucaracha' horn on Cinco de Mayo ever again, if you catch my drift

That's what you get when you try to turn left directly in front of oncoming traffic traveling at 50mph, jackass.

Sucks for sure. With any luck, insurance will cover it. Did some nice damage to the a-hole's vehicle though.
Also, I've never seen a police vehicle that says "Constable" on the side.

Yep... Sad day. 5 days shy of 5 years, the most reliable car I have ever owned.
Time to find a new daily... 3.2 TTs are still out of my price range. Maybe a nice '91 CQ with a 20vt or 1.8t swap if I can find one.

Constables here are sworn law enforcement officers that handle court business for the county. Subpoenas, service of process, warrant enforcement. Certain counties constable offices took the law enforcement duties too far in recent history (speed traps, revenue collection) and have been neutered. But he just happened to be driving by and took control of the accident scene and relinquished jurisdiction to the county sheriff when they arrived.

Yes, Bryan and I know each other in real life. We've been talking about the parts from the grey roadster this past week, and he's already drooling over the green roadster since he found out about the wreck this morning.
