Anybody parting a 4kq or 5ktq?

I need some parts. Most notably, I need the shfiter ball on the transmission from anything 016 driven as well as the piece that attaches to that ball, then I also need a gas pedal assembly out of a 4kq or cgt.
Anybody?
Hank

You need that ball for your swap man. Send it to me and I'll modify an 01e ball for you.
Keep an eye out for 4kq linkage for me though! Thanks man!

i may go b5 off the bat. if i do i got a least 2 sets of linkage and at least one ball assembly. Probably 3 sets of 4kq linkage. Def have a pedal cluster now though, that i dont need, maybe two. At least one s6 linkage set and ball(also only if i go b5) possibly more of all of the above lol

Why you think the shifter wears them out? I have a DQT...

DQT has the same parts as every other 01e ever built. People think they have different parts because they rarely blow 1-2 in the c4. C4 has the same basic geometry as the type 85 and type 44, ala the ball on top of the shifting shaft.
Funny how Allroads, c5s and b5's all go through 1-2 collars and syncros like candy. Do they all have anything in common?

They all have a 98% chance of being driven by a retard?

Hank im using that trans no matter what. My question is does the linkage shorten life. I know the internals are the same.

How many busted 1-2 hubs and collars on c4 cars have you ever heard of? How many have you heard of on b5 and c5 platforms that share the same linkage?

True, but lots of urS's are driven by dipshits as well these days.

It would make sense that it does if abused. The shifting is pretty solid, and any hard shifting (read: shifting like Vin) is transmitted straight to the tranny. I hope I don't upset anyone by saying that shifting hard is dumb. Anyone who is going to do that is probably going to do it much harder after their 'sweet launch' into second. Oh yeah, and the 'check it out bro, it's a twin turbo 6 cylinder all wheel drive launch machine' factor is there too with those cars.

Yeah, but the 01e's munch 1-2 mostly because syncros can't spin down fast enough at higher RPMs. A torque happy 2.7T should not be reving nearly as high as a 2.2L.
Mostly I dislike that the b5 linkage is a "floating" design. I don't mind the casual cut and flip b5 mod, but I would go to great lengths to not have the b5 bucket in my cars. Floating= less vibration in the stick/cabin, but it also creates a very vague shifter. A Vague shifter = blown collars
Yuck

So isolate the shifter. How much does a b5s4 weigh...4400lbs? whats a URS? Also i bet more tipped hat retards do launches, and shitty driving style in b5s4's then any URS. I'd say the latter is a more likely reason for the collar problem then the weight, cuz its prob pretty close.

Interesting talk. How about shifters off newer Bx cars like Darin used?

b5's weigh a few hundred less than c4 s4s. C4s are around 3700 where b5 s4s are around 3450$. Avants weigh close to what c4 sedans weigh and a6's are on par with c4s.
I know of a lot of responsible b5 owners in their 50s that have crunched 1-2s.
Ed, the b6 is the same shifter as the later revised linkage that was in the 2001+ cars. Yes, it was revised...... Wonder why?

The shifter main rod is the same, so it must be the crossover rod is different...?

Yes, the pickup and crossover is different on the revision. Still sucks though

I get why b3 and b4 guys use the b5 s4 linkage, but no type 85 or b2 car should ditch the superior linkage design for the work and effort required to weld in the b5 shift box.

If i didnt hear about this 1-2 abuse from design id think that last statement was crazy. This has me wanting to sell my shifter and tunnel section i just got. Maybe the updated version for the urq?

But what is the best for a B3/4? Worth the effort to be nice to the trans or should we be designing something new
