I say sell that buick as it sits and lets move on to the Red Pill. The Buick is the only thing left now that the 240 is done, right?[/quote]Shhhhheeeeea........You don't have to let people know I have a Buick in the driveway. The Nissan 240 was bad enough. Kids cars honest!!!!
Want to buy it? You could put it in the garage and leave the cayman out front so at least the neighbors would think you hadn't completely lost it. I'd give you an awesome deal. :-D

There is no shame. Admitting it is the first step to recovery ;o}
The UPS truck pulled on to my street right behind me this evening, two boxes of goodies. One was full of miscellaneous gadgets and hoo-ha's including my proper T/O bearing. The other was from 034 - and that one made me grin big.

I unwrapped it like a kid at christmas and headed for the garage.

I had to slap it on the header just for giggles. I like the fitment of the GT2871r and I was also surprised how similar in size to the K24 that it will be replacing.

looks good sean! I will try and come up with a list of things we need to make a downpipe.
Wait till these folks see your Intake Manifold!!!!!

I did a little work dremmeling the phenolic spacer tonight, it's actually saving me from having to grind away any material off the intake manifold. Also as mentioned earlier the T/O bearing came so I wrestled the transmission back in! I hate that job with every fiber of my being.
Hank, should I get the 4-bolt v-band adapter or a weld-on? Im also looking at a piece for the DP that already has an O2 bung welded in. What size is that plug I will need to close up the EGT probe hole? (3/8NPT?smaller?) Im going to start ordering some fittings now that I see how things are going to be oriented. For the I/C outlet I would really like 2 1/2" if we can make that work...
A mockup with the I/M in place would help with decide some of the angles for my line fittings etc.
peace out - i m all ache'y and tired

I would ge the bolt on. They are fairly cheap for the 4 bolt, and welding something on the housing may decrease the value of the turbo, should you wanna upgrade in the future. maybe others can chime in, but I think the fourbolt DP flange is pretty robust, and people odnt have problemswith it warping or pulling studs.
What we will do is make a little adapter, from 4 bolt to v-band, and we will do that in the span of a few inches after the flange. Then if you go up to a gt3071r in the future, you can drop in a four bolt housing, and it will work in the same matter.
As for the 02, just buy the threaded plug, they are easy to weld in. As for the EGT, if you are using a wideband that logs it through the sensor, then you wont need a tap, if you are using an extrenal, I would just use the one on the header. It is an autometer 3/8ths thread. It woulld work just fine. You need to decide whether you will go 3 inch or 2.5 on the downpipe, and order some material. Remember that site I showed you, I would order 2 90s and 2 45s in whatever you decide. I think we can chop of that old downpipe as well to get some of the goodies off of it. Make sure you get a bellow as well, for flex, and we will route the wastegate like we talked.
Um, for the IC, I will bring home some material tomarrow so you can get the IC mounted how you would like, and then you can mock up the endcaps with cardboard, and then give them. I will shear the peices at work, and then weld an endtank together. 2.5 plumbing shouldnt be a problem at all.
as for the IM, did you ever figure out a flange for the TB?
Now that you ahve your turbo, you should start to piece together oil and water lines.. that takes a while. IF you need fittings welded onto audi flanges(IE oil lines chopped coming off the block,) let me know.
Ok, give me a call if you have more questions.

When can I stop spending money? :frustrated: I say that in hopes the IIc bug don't bite me in the final moments of this ordeal ;o]
I got all the stuff ordered for the downpipe, went 3" just in case. Got the V-band parts, the O2 bungs, flex pipe, and tubing itself. Hopefully it will arrive right after the holiday. I think Im going to want to strap the DP to the support on the transmission as the stock one is done so I need to locate some material for that too.
I got a few plumbing pieces but I want to fine tune my decision before I bought all of it - it was getting too late to think about it and I didn't want to order stuff I would end up not liking. Plus I need to get the center section and the compressor rotated into their proper orientation to check clearances for the lines.
I think we were just going to use the 1/2 plate for the TB flange, I didn't see (or I forgot) why I needed a super thick flange.
Im outta town this weekend for the holiday but I will probably order a few things online. I might even stop by 034 since I will be in the bay area 8)
