There must be some sort of tag on these pics cause they are just showing a "?" here on my brother in law's wifi... Think it'll be weird if I ask him to open up the car porn filter?

hmmmm... The prototype oil pan is in the blue pill, and I think we are go for making 10 of everything!! Still need to hash out the trap doors and windage, but the pickup and skin is in cad and ready to hit the router table asap. I test welded a couple of spots to see if the 1/2" flange is going to give me fits. Not a problem at all. It is going to weld beautifully.

I kind of want to make a kickout on both sides for more capacity, but I am already at ~ 6 quarts. I don't think it really needs more then that. I think it is even possible to fit a stock radiator in the stock location tilted slightly back and without the rs2 shroud. I might try in stage 1 to get the car on the track.

And I was just considering putting my AAN shorty under a 7a head. Must keep saving money...

Jim do some searching on 2.0L FSI heads and what they do with 3071r turbos. They can pretty much max out a 3071r at 25-26psi and outspool a 2.2L. Guys are making 370awhp on 23-24psi. Another cylinder is going to be silly

Remember how easy it was to make power coming from the 20v to the 20v? I have a feeling this will be the same magnitude, going from a 2.2L 20v to a 2.5L 07k. Looking at the few 35r 2.5L's out there, they are making 600whp like I did, but with 10psi less boost and on non billet wheels.

The question that I have is: Can the market absorb the influx of 2.2L 20v engines, manifolds etc. for the 07k exodus? :D

G'day Hank,

I asked a while back but didnt get an answer, Will this bolt up to an 016 gearbox?

If so we might need to ship two kits and engines to New Zealand! Mike's been filling me in with details from your e-mails with him.

Looks like I could do it for a similar cost to the 20v stroker i was planing.

Cheers,

Douglas

So Hank

What is it you're doing here? Can it have any affect on my lowly 2.5 stroker?

Hap, with some kind of strokerQ near Everboost, Maguire

I could be wrong Hap (Hank, please correct me if I'm wrong), but from what I've been told, on a highly modified (really nice port job, huge valves, etc.) 3b, aan, 7a, etc. head like you might find in a car like yours, there shouldn't be too much difference in ultimate power output. Seems like the 07k is a cheaper and easier way to make a lot of power.

As long as they can deal with selling them at record low prices. I think the real question is will Hank be able to keep up with the demand for the parts/kits for the 07K swaps? The 2.2L market is going to take a serious hit when all this hits the market at full force. I bet even the 20v market will be take a hit as well.

Haha you guys are terrible.
10vs aren't bad for cheap and easy small amounts of power. Obviously once you start to modify them you get to a point where a 20v is more cost effective.
and they sound cool.

if 20vt's were efi id have liek 5-6 cars runngin 20vt power as they are near disposable if you pop one and need a basic longblock

So are 07k motors. I scored a forged crank on ebay this week for 30$.... A cylinder head for 70$.... Both in perfect condition.

On a side note, I have been asked to tone down my 07k excitement and keep the no vending policy legit here on Motorgeek.com. I'll likely take down a bunch of pictures to help keep the rules. Send me an email at HankIroz@IrozMotorsport.com if you have questions about anything in my thread or any other thread. Thanks guys!

Hank
