I should also mention I have finally decided which direction to take the truck after MANY back and forths over the last couple years. I'm going to build a supercharged 408 stroker. On pump fuel and a good tune, I'll see about 600-625hp crank. On E85, I'm expecting about 750-800hp crank on a good tune. If I wanted more power, I would have to go find myself an R3 block which costs even more $$$. I may ultimately do that, but this is a long-term project.

So small update. Got the flanges/collector-reducers to finally put the damn headers on. Going to go about installing them tomorrow as it's too late in the day to start. Pictures to follow!

Well got the stock exhaust manifolds off today.

However.............managed to break one *bleep*ing exhaust stud on the driver side. And it snapped flush with the head......lovely.

Time to bust out the drill and easy outs!

Stud has been removed and the installation process continues! Thinking I might go do a couple runs in Downtown Coeur d'Alene this Friday night with some open headers mwaahahahah

Headers are now bolted in! Strangely my hearing seems to be missing and now I have a headache after driving the truck for 5 minutes....LOL

Do you plan on lowering it?

I agree that it does sound good but it sure is no 4K!

Yeah it will get lowered soon enough. I gotta get springs for the front, figure out how to modify the leaf springs in the rear, and then modify the cal-trac bracket so it isnt dragging on the ground

That will make it look better. Just be sure to do the Audi first ;)

So got some new tires on the way. I literally wore the tire down to nothing while cruising Thursday Night. It's a good thing the Michelin tires are run-flats because I was 15 miles away from home doing burnouts LOL.

I got some BRAND NEW Pirelli 345/35/19 tires on the way........for $380 shipped! Brand new never been ran! Friggen Ferrari tires! I've never had any kind of tread on the rear Viper wheels so it will be interesting to see how well this thing handles now. I can not WAIT to get this thing on the track this year.

Also, since I plan to fix the 4000 over the next couple days with the exhaust, I'm going to finally bring the truck into the garage for a much needed intake manifold, pushrods, and roller rockers. I'm half tempted to buy a cam and do everything at once.

Thanks they were an absolute PITA to install.

The regular cabs like mine tend to go for more vs the extended cabs because of the rarity. A completely bone stock regular cab with no major faults and clean paint/tires/wheels/etc about $5000-7000 depending on mileage. I paid $5900 for mine with 113k 4 years ago (in June) bone stock.

I would have to value my truck with all the proper modifications at about $8500-$10,000 right now. Thats with the built trans, $2500 in tires/wheels, all OEM parts stashed away, etc

Got the new pirellis mounted up today. (The exhaust pipes are like that for when I put the rollpan on. They need to be cut and redone)

I've seriously been bitten by the big cube bug lately. I think it's time I start building the 408 this summer :)

Been tuning over the last week. What a difference in both power and sound. Raised the rev limiter to 6000 and holy shit! 1-2 shift damn near breaks the tires loose! And that's with 345 wide tires!!! Imagine if they were stock!

Finished up the wiring on the console today. Now just gotta figure out how to wire in the power mirror.

Just gotta get a temperature sensor plug in and I'll finally have outside temp readings. The cool part is the wiring is already there, just gotta grab a sensor out of the junkyard.

Even got the homelink working (garage door opener). Shouldve done this a long time ago lol
