Awesome.
No flipping a million switches on/off to find the right one.
Has to be one of the most annoying 1st world problems, evar!

Always doin something. Never time is taken off. Moved stuff around again. Condensed bays 3/4 to clear out 1/2 as the shop doors get put in tomorrow. Bay 1 standard roll up door. Bay 2 roll up door following the pitch of the roof for clearance as it is the lift bay and it gets belt drive operator as well.
Did some more work on the primary workbench. More planning. Some drinking and thinking.
Going to basically rewire the entire shop to my plan. But having 7 open 220v circuits is awesome!!!!! Welder, hot tub, plasma, mill (eventually), compressor (when i upgrade), and room to spare.

And checked wifi have 3 bars out here without the need for a repeater PERFECT!!!!!!
Put older laptop out here with external speakers for sounds for now until i find the power supply for the shop sound system. Lost it in the move I did.

Re: Aarons shop project..... bench started
garage doors got done today.
and yes, i plan to have shop air although i dont really know why as i do it all by hand i dont use air tools unless its like nailgun for roofing or for painting cars.
and i will be using Pro-press in copper to run the air lines. its EASY! and i have a stash of fittings left over from a job, sitting at the shop

I picked up copper for mine and still haven't put it in. Looks sharp, don't forget speaker wires. And when I comes time for drywall I'll rent you some labor. Ships easily in a 36 inch box. Weighs ~30 lbs

Haha. Yeah no mud Eater needed I gots one already :-)
Made progress on ze sister bench. Need to finish the turnback.
And wait til Tuesday for the Coupe de Grass for the work benches. I do not want any hatred regarding them either.
I saved my old cabinetry just for this purpose, bench building..

Re: Aarons shop project..... doors done!
ok. will do.
did more today, got the rest of the stuff out of the N storage. cleared out and done done moving stuff (almost.)
then we came back, Daves son messed around on the lawnmower doing some yardwork for me while Dave and i swapped out the man-door for the shop. the RHD swing was totally fucked, they had like 2" gap at the bottom and it didnt latch. instead of time put in, i just swapped it for the pristine LHD swing door that was in the center wall. done and thru.
then i finished off the bay 3 work bench. 30.66 sq ft work surface for that side
next i insulated the bay 3 N wall in prep for shelves. and started the shelves. some time in between i came inside for something, sat down for "just a minute" and woke up about 3 hours later.... man i guess i needed a recharge.

Re: Aarons speed shop build thread: 8-16
but for the most part, i really dont put stuff down on paper with drawings, designs, etc. i have an idea of what i want, i build to suit, in place, and make changes on the fly.
i know how heavy duty i want something, what its going to need to support etc, and then make it happen.
and as a result i make numerous trips to the Deep Homo race shop for supplies. but that is ok. i also reclaim as much as i can throughout these proceedings. like the man door. i would have liked it staying RHD swing. but to save a couple hundo, i will accept the reclaimed (which equals FREE.99) LHD swing door set.
tomorrow is more work. plans are to get the shelvs finished up (with another trip to the Deep Homo) and loaded and some space cleared.
one thing i cant wait for is Tuesday and the Coup de Grass (haha) for my work benches. got the finishing touches for them and need some work done to achieve. the cost to me is a 1/5 or 1/2 gal of good whiskey, he said Pendleton. soooo, i will hook that up, have my parts worked and report back after i have fit them and put them in place. it will REALLY make the work benches very cool

Re: Aarons speed shop: needed a little lift me up.
Sooooo I been working on Things slowly. Well I have been putting the motor together for the awd car to race in 2 weeks.
But I did make a Lil progress. I had some material stashed away, overage from a job, since 2011. And I finally got to put it to b use :-)

D

Yep. 304 stainless 14 ga tops for all the work surfaces. And I got with one of the local fab shops to shear and brake them up for me. Cost me a whopping one half gallon of Pendleton whiskey :-) I love having cash hookups they are so handy!!!!
Even have some for some shelves as well.

I like the idea of the stainless over wood workbench. makes me want to 'upgrade' mine.
