Calling all 4X4 truck owners

So here is the situation. My '07 Mitsubishi Raider(Dodge Dakota) Now has 55K miles on it, and the shocks and struts are getting weak, I noticed it kind of hopping over a little bit around corners with mild bumps in the road.

Im looking to replace the shocks/struts here somewhat soon as when the bandit is back on the road, my wife will be useing the truck to haul the kid around, and what ever else she is doing. I want to put somthing on it that wont be too harsh of a ride, but at the same time, keep the truck planted on the road. Im running BFG rugged terrain tires, put on about 5k miles ago, so Im good in that department. Now I need to get the suspension taken care of so I dont have to worry about her driving it on a regular basis.

Any sugestions?

My dads Nissan Frontier did the same. After about 50K it got super bouncy and lots of body roll, we'd hit a bump and the truck would bounce until we found the next pothole . We replaced with cheapy Monroe shocks and it's been 100x better. I have a buddy with Bilsteins on his S10 and it's about the same ride. Both are solid axle leaf rear and torsion bar independent fronts. I assume the Bilsteins will last longer although they are 4-5x the cost.

On a good note it took me <30 min to change all 4

I have these on my 05 Chevy 1500 4x4. I'm on 33" tires. Might be alittle heavier then your truck, I don't know. I love these shocks though. My truck has never had a nice ride, but when I put these on it was at least manageable to drive. Just my experience.

20Vavant, the Dakota/Raider uses a strut in the front and shocks in the back. The monroe Reflex is one of the options out there for my truck, I was thinking about getting them, but have never had any luck with anything Monroe. As for the Bilstein HDs, they are quite expensive, and the few trucks/SUVs that I have driven and ridden in seemed to have a pretty harsh ride. This being what the wife will be driving on a daily basis, I dont want to hear about the truck "kicking her ass" all the time

Dutchbroracer, Rancho only offers the RS5000 series for my truck. Your truck is quite heavier than mine, yours being a full size and all. I looked at the Rancho option, but cant really find anyone running them on my chassis to discous ride quallity. I like Ranch for off road use, but never really drove on daily on the street with them.
