Haha thanks. I think if all else fails, I will throw them on the pop's E36. They would look REALLY nice on there.

If I don't get them to fit on my 200 Ill probably just refinish them really nicely and resell for more than I paid for so I guess I can't really lose.

Well there may be a time when they are available at a special motorgeek price :)

My real dream wheels are RS's...but who knows, I may fall in love with these even more. I just cant wait to see some huge meats on the car :)

Dang I just realized that they are reps. Doh. I may not get them after all. This does make me have the wheel bug though so I'm going to be on the lookout.

Im really hoping these fit. Offsets are 55 and 50, so if I use 15mm adapters, that will bring them down to 35 and 40 et. That is of course just about stock ET, but I sure hope they dont poke too far! They have 255's on the rear (10" wheel) but the stretch doesnt look too absurd. Maybe that will allow for the tires to be lined up with the fender. As long as the tires don't poke, I'm cool :)

Aw man, sold an E30? I wish I had one.

My roommate is going to get one this summer if all goes as planned. I think I bit him with the euro/turbo bug. His plans include an e36 motor (s50, s52, m50, or m52, etc.) first...then something like a 35r on that :)

I really really want to own one someday. If I owned one though, it would most definitely be the first car I'd mod mostly only for handling and looks. I think I would prefer a 325 too. I'm not really down with the flares (or cost) of an M3...plus I don't really dig 4-cyls. I want to hear the sexiness of that nice inline 6.

I guess I will have to really look into what its going to take to do the rack. I mean it would be cool to be able to do myself, but I need to buy some airtools first I think.

Haha I know right? Its so weird. Something I like about how clean the non-M's are tho...this for example:

Just for fun, here is another pic I took of these wheels at Fixxfest back in 07. I never imagined I'd own them lol. I thought they looked so sexxy on this car. (its a vrt btw)

Soooo in a matter of a week the audi has gone from making say 15psi (spike), to just going up to about 10 or 11 and then staying there, to just peaking at 9, and now its down to about 7...

I fixed some boost leaks today. The line to the DV from the intake mani AND the FPR vacuum line were both so rotted out that they actually had holes in them right at the manifold connection. SCARY.

So I fixed those figuring that my dv was just not getting enough pressure to stay closed.

Same issue.

So now I'd say its pretty much down to the charge pipes and the turbo itself. I took the intake boot off recently and there was not any bad shaft play, and it sounds just fine, so I'm assuming the turbo itself is fine. If its not, then I guess its time to throw on a Holset with one of those Ebay cast manifolds (t3 flanged) on low boost to get me by for a while :)

I am leaning towards the charge pipes though as the top one has oil residue on it. I just cleaned it off days ago. That and the fact that it is not in the best shape upon close visual inspection. I guess the only option is to get a new one from 034. I would love to do all new ic piping and ic though...hehe too bad that would be waaaaaay overshooting my budget at the moment.

If someone has that upper hose in good condition pleaseeee let me know though. I don't really want to spend ridiculous amounts of money for one.

Well I found my boost leak...

My roommate was kind enough to hold my hose...while I took pictures of it...
Image

which was exactly where I thought it was.

So I went out and bought some silicone to ghetto rig that hoe. :D

This is only so I can get home for spring break with a little boost hehe. This along with the new thermostat should definitely improve gas mileage. Its been terrible lately due to running cold and rich (from the t-stat and leak respectively).

Hopefully I can pick up a silicone one or rig up something with metal soon.

p/s rack is a pain although definitely doable without pulling motor or having a lift. Make sure to mark which hose goes where on the rack, or you may be doing the job twice...

I'd recommend a very long 3/8 extension(2' plus) and a 19mm swivel socket. Of course a 1/4" air-ratchet and some stubby wrenches help too...

I'd duct tape the crap out of the hose. I don't think silicon is going to hold well. Duct tape (in large quantities) worked for me and others in the past. Wrap it up.

I believe 034 sells a silicone MM hose

It's gonna be real sucky when that silicon breaks up and ends up in your engine/intake...

Wouldn't chance it.

Haha I knew I'd catch flack for it.

I dunno I am definitely going to trim it out on the inside. I'll wrap 'er up with some duct tape too though.

I am aware of the silicone hoses, but I'd rather not spend the ridiculous amount that it costs. I could just get an aluminum pipe and some couplers and be done. Again, this is only to get me home.

:woowoo: Put the motorsport spec tranny mount in today. What a WORLD of difference. Thanks 034.

That took about 20 minutes.

Then I went to do the thermostat...ugh took about 4 hours! WTF lol

I also wrapped the hose with some duct tape. Holds plenty of boost now :)

Car made it 300 miles home without too many problems lol.

The only thing that concerned me was that the tach sometimes started jumping like crazy between 3 and 4k rpms when I was on the highway...I've messed with the crank trigger connection enough that it would seem like that could be a good cause, but the little digital readout for boost, etc. was flippin' out too (not at the same time though). That of course makes me think its the cluster. I guess I could pull that out and resolder some stuff.

I picked up the wheels and tires though. That was definitely the highlight of the day. The rears just look sooooo meaty! I'm super excited to get them on. The previous owner of them said he thought they should fit nicely with some 20mm adapters in the rear and 25's in the front. 8) (ill measure to see what it will be like)

I know they will poke a little, but I'm so not opposed to a little poke and stretch for show wheels.

I'll get pics tomorrow. My friend (with M3) kept begging me today to do the launch control, so I did it for him. We got a really crappy video and he got a cool pic from his phone. Im going to take a really sweet picture later on with a flame (with my D80...you will see), but this one is cool for now!

Pics of wheels tomorrow too. Its 4 in the morning here and I just got home :frustrated:

Hhhhokay, so I tried to test fit (without adapters) the wheels today. Fronts fit just fine in the rear, but the rears in the rear are no go quite yet haha.

They contact the inner fender well way before you could even catch a thread on a bolt, and the also hit the suspension.

ET on wheels is 55 and 50 for rear and front respectively. They are 10 and 8.5 wide. Stock et is 35.

The guy said 20 in rear and 25 in front should work nicely, but I'm not spending money on a set of adapters until I know they will work. Soo what do you wheel whore guys think?

Teaser :P

Thanks :)

I have sent an e-mail to my bagyard dealer...things are going to be exciting this summer as long as I can get a good internship! I'll be super satisfied mod-wise if I can get some wilwoods in the front, a bagyard setup, and this tune finally dialed in.

As always, I like to plan for the future early...I think x-mas is a good goal for getting a holset on.
