Re: Pops' 1997 S6 - 07k BLK WDW
Dad's toying with a pared-down basic AAN build now that the 07k is not happening. Rung what ya brung... I mean it would still have an RS2 trans, 7a stage 4 flywheel/clutch setup, the big turbo and spool valve, ID 1000s, etc. and maybe a set of rods

Purdy... the coolant passages in the block are awesome - are they going in the head as well? Dad wanted to do that very much on his "to be" stroker build.

Yup - as long as there's good oil pressure, I wouldn't worry about that too much just yet.

Short deck stroker is just stock AAN block with either a 95.5mm crank or 92.8mm crank, 144mm rods, and shortened (wrist pin to piston top) pistons.

Re: Bill's 200 20v, ign tuning help needed
Regarding ignition timing, honestly I would get it running before messing with anything. You'll likely only need to make changes under high load, so I would get it up and running with what you know will make it run and then worry about fine tuning. If you leave it on spring pressure at least to ...

I wrote a reply but it got baleeted somehow.
Did you at least pull the Merc before kablammo? I dunno about the short deck + 95.5 crank... its gonna be a revkiller. Would it be enough to change cam profiles? I dunno. Just something to think about. I'd try to find the unicorn 92.8 crank if I was you.

After owning an ALH for a few years and now a BEW... I would go ALH hands down. Why the fuck would I want injectors in the head plus wiring and EUGHHH fuck that. Just my $.02. I can't wait to get out of this fucking BEW Jetta. Just not my jam I guess.

Nice! I'm driving the same thing while I'm here in Nicaragua. 97 red taco with the 2.7L. It's such a slow piece of shit but otherwise I actually really like the truck. It's super simple, easy to work on, it's just that I don't speak the language here and getting parts is difficult. When the one I'm ...

When I sent my TDI block to Hank, he was very diligent and measured everything just to be sure. Good thing, because he noticed the cc on the combustion chamber wasn't quite right with the supplied pistons and rods. Long story short, he deduced (via plenty ...

Sorry, the sarcasm clearly didn't translate on that one. I meant to imply that I was questioning whether 630whp is fast. Like how can I just take someone's word that 630whp is fast - unbelievable!!
