Re: Dave A. Rally CQ: Now in Seattle, sort of

Alright! So work on the project is kind of tough right now since we're about 3000 miles apart. The car remains in Mass, while I'm fully moved on to Seattle. Worry not though, the rally car will soon be following.

I'll be setting up an auto transport for my BRZ and the non-driving Audi CQ for the ...

Re: Dave A. Rally CQ: Countdown to SEATTLE

Was great meeting you today Dave, can't wait to see this thing in person!

Yes! you too Alex. Hopefully you'll get to see it turn some laps in Anger sometime soon.

Quick project/life update - I'm now pretty settled into Seattle, have a job and a place.

Re: Kirk's Lifted Audi CQ Project: Audi Expo 2016

I would check the hose temp near the sensor with an IR gun. Should read ~5-10C lower than the actual temp I would think.

Garage / Workshop Wanted in Seattle area

I'm starting to look at some spaces in the Seattle region where I can keep the project car and wrench on it. Looking for private garages, corner of a warehouse, hanger, whatever.

Requirements are minimal:
Decent Price
Power (110, 220 optional)
Hard smooth-ish floor
Able to lock or secure somehow ...

Drop to $1995 to match the MY. I'll probably just keep it if it doesn't go at this price.

You know this car would wheel really well with a stock turbo TDI swapped in....with a smokestack.

Re: Dave A. Rally CQ: Countdown to SEATTLE

Alright so I still don't have a job in Seattle and I'm still moving to Seattle and now it looks like it will be without the project car. Womp womp I guess but that doesn't mean I'm giving it up! not by a long shot. I'll have to come back for at least 2 work trips, 4 weddings, 1 bachelor party, 1 or ...

Re: Dave A. Rally CQ: Countdown to SEATTLE

I got the front brake lines routed. I had to sort of guess where a good spot for the bulkhead fitting would be... we'll see how that goes later when its time to order the last few feet of brake line to the caliper.

Re: Dave A. Rally CQ: Countdown to SEATTLE

So as it turns out, I don't have a secured job in Seattle, but we're going for it anyway. So... if there's anyone who knows of someone looking for a mechanical engineer in the greater Seattle region... let me know!

But anyway, who cares about the serious stuff, let's look at the project.

Oh, I guess I didn't make that clear. I'm actually moving to Seattle at the end of June. GF and I are ready for some different scenery, and seeing as I'm a diehard Seahawks fan and we both love the outdoors and have internal transfer opportunities, it just makes sense!

Re: Dave A. Rally CQ: Countdown to SEATTLE

Ok so I've been going at it hard while I can. but the clock is officially ticking. Seattle is about 80% certain at this point, which means I have 7 weeks to make this thing look and maybe even drive like a car. In that time, 5 weekends are booked up with weddings, and stuff so it'll be a lot of late ...

0ooo, gotcha!

thanks for this little pseudo-drawing of the adapters! For the o-rings from the adapter to the fuel rail, I just ordered those straight from 034, fitment is nice and they were cheap (since I was ordering other stuff too...)

Re: Replacement O-rings for 034 Injectors?

You used to be able to contact 034 for replacements. Don't know if you still can though.

Makes a lot of sense really... maybe I'll give them a call for info.

What I found tonight is that the

ID of the boss on the IM is ~13.9mm

OD of the O-ring I've been trying to shove in there is 15mm.
